As Ally’s mom, it’s hard to put into words what she means to me. She is my everything — my only child, my greatest joy, and someone I have been endlessly proud to watch grow into the strong, beautiful person she is, both inside and out. When Matt came to pick her up for their very first date and opened the car door for her, I remember thinking, okay… this one might be different. Watching them grow together through college was special, but it was during their years in Boston that I truly saw their relationship deepen. A new city, new challenges, and all the ups and downs that come with building a life together only seemed to strengthen the bond between them.
What I admire most about Ally and Matt is the friendship at the center of their relationship. They genuinely enjoy each other — the laughter, the inside jokes, even their little handshake. Through every challenge, they have learned how to lean on one another, communicate, and show up for each other in ways that matter. Matt brings patience and steadiness to Ally, especially in the moments when she swears she’s fine but really just needs a hug. And Ally has been Matt’s biggest supporter through difficult seasons, always helping him find his footing. Seeing the way they care for one another — and the smile on Ally’s face when Matt makes her laugh — leaves me with no doubt that they have found not only great love, but their very best friend in each other.
